House raffle rip off

Pictured: Mother who missed out on £3m home she 'won' in raffle
https://mol.im/a/6584091

Winner of £3m riverfront mega-home revealed as mother-of-two Carina Alcock, from Christchurch, Dorset
Mark and Sharon Beresford launched competition last year to raffle off the six-bed property in Hampshire
But last week they revealed they would give away 'six figure' cash prize after failing to sell enough tickets
They still sold 30,000 tickets raising £750,000 but the value of the prize was revealed to be just £110,000
Couple maintain they spent £450,000 in advertising, marketing, PR and legal bills and up to £187,000 in time

Hmmm I dunno if this is false advertising. They should maybe honour their original prize of the house. Tough luck on them if they didn't sell enough tickets.

That does seem very unfair, if they didn't state the prize wasn't sure then I'd say they should give the house to the winner no matter how much they didn't raise.

Have you seen the two smug faced millionaire owners. They look like the cats who got the cream!

I bet all those who handed over £25 for a ticket feel a bit miffed but l suppose, you have to be in it, to win it!

After reading the article. A good reason not to bother to enter that or any raffle at all. Unless it's for a charity.
