What if parliament takes control of brexit?
British house of commons being one of the old parliaments, its actions are sometimes hard to follow for those from the younger democracies. Although it makes for great entertainment!
It is obvious a majority in the house wants to stop a no deal brexit at all cost. Suppose the parliament takes a vote (don't know if that takes a formal written proposal from a member or an oral will do), on revoking article 50. A majority vote is for stopping brexit and wants to revoke article 50.
Who must act on that?
Is it the chairman of the assembled house, mr. Bercow, who picks up the phone, calls juncker and tells him: "look old chap, we the british are staying to keep you company in the EU. Will be interesting times".
Or is it the pm who gets the pleasure of breaking that piece of news to tusk and junkers.
In other words, who executes your parliament's wishes and decisions?
