Re: Raising my bed

Do you have to raise the bed - would one of these not do the trick?

Bed already on castors .
I know you can buy things but how do I work out which will be suitable ?
Any suggestions ?
Why not just buy a set of those things that go under casters to stop them moving or marking the carpet or floor but only put them under the casters at the head of the bed? They come in different designs, perhaps just fix them to a suitable piece of wood and they should do the job depending on how much lift you want. Only cost a few bucks too

Re: Raising my bed

Sorry I can't lend you my husband Zuleika.
Two bricks, the sort with a depression in, would work as well. Have you got a builder's merchant close by where you could buy them?
Incidentally, the depression in a brick is known as a frog. A bit of useless information I picked up when I worked at a brick factory. No, not as a hod carrier, in the office.

Re: Raising my bed

I had one of those wedges but found it unsuitable. If I lay on my back, all my weight was on the bottom of my back which gave me a very painful coccyx. If I lay on my side, it put a curve in my spine which gave me a painful backache. You need the whole of the bed to have a gentle slope, so your spine is in a straight line.
