My son went to live in Australia and got his residency there. He wouldn’t come back to this country. He says there is nothing here for him, he has a better life there with so much opportunity.He recently moved from Sydney to a place, some five hours drive away.
Last weekend, a big group of his friends did this long journey to travel to see him and his family.
I see Australian people as being very friendly and loyal. If his friends had ‘a chip on their shoulders’ they would have resented his move and not bothered with him again.

Ciderman, It’s just the Australian words you have to work out, like ‘arvo’! I thought it was a Utility company!

1. Simply a thing. In inner urban hipster (mostly Melbourne) parlance. Like. "Nice hat..it's a good unit".."He's a good guy..a cool unit"
2. Can also be a surfing term. One particularly good wave in a set (Group of waves)
3. A flat or apartment. What they call a "condo" in the US.
