Retrieving deleted photos

Is anyone clever enough to know how to find deleted photos on a laptop.
I'm sure I've heard of it being done.
My youngest transfered loads of my photos onto an external hard drive which has vanished during moving backwards and forwards to uni and I'm very upset about it.
If anyone can help I'd be grateful.

you could look in your trash bin , see if they are still there Tess , if they are they its a case of just taking them out again by clicking on them hold then put on desk top in a folder .

If they are not in your trash then i doubt they are retrievable.

Were they taken on your phone originally? If so you might them automatically saved on One Drive.

No on my camera unfortunately, I've lost the memory card too, gone the same way as the hard drive I expect.

I looked at what you suggested Purwell, I don't feel confident enough to try restoriing as I'm scare I'll lose stuff. Thanks for trying anyway.

I think a nice man in a computer shop will get most of them back, put your little old lady head on!

Tsk! I don't have a little old lady head! I'll wear me brass goggles and a pith helmet, he might feel sorry for me then!
I make myself angry by not understanding technology!

Malcolm, I have thousands of negatives from decades which I haven't lost, at least they don't disappear into the ether!
