What a privilidge to have such a regular visitor, we've had a Green Woodpecker on the feeders, but only saw it the once unfortunately....must get some fat balls.....

yes its Fatball Time in the bird kingdom, we give the birds Chopped up Fatballs with Californian Raisins, seedless. We have a large Plastic tub, but shallow ,turned upside down with four hooks fastened into the bottom and in this we hang two bird seeds and two nuts, keeps them a bit drier.

Every time we put out fat balls, the greedy crows, rooks, and magpies make very short work of them. It would be lovely to see such a colourful bird like that woodpecker for a change.

The same happens here, although the little birds do get a look in at some point.
