Feeding your local birds.

I have feeders up for my local birds and get a few different species. Sparrows seem to be the most prolific, I have a couple of Blue Tits which more often or not do not get near the feeders for the sparrow, a couple of Jackdaws who will eat the seeds I scatter on the ground, a couple of Magpies who are, foe the most part, bullies and the ubiquitous pigeons.

Full house this morning on the feeders. I make my own cake that rarely lasts long.

I really have no idea Aysa.

The squirrel feeder took a while to be visited but the bird feeders, if memory serves, were popular very quickly.

We also have a family of about fifteen sparrows that suddenly appear from nowhere to eat the bird seed. Then the crows turn up and eat the lot in about ten minutes.

I have a well used feeding station in the garden, also a ground feeder for Blackbirds ect. A couple of magpies had ruled the roost there but just in the last week or so the smaller birds are refusing to be chased off. A gang of starlings turned and attacked the magpies and now they seem to be feeding elsewhere, suits me.

We don't have many sparrows in our area now, not sure why.

I don't dare feed them here. over 30 cats in a complex of 44 flats. It would be setting them up for a blood bath.

I do feed the squirrels but they are quick and seem able to get away before they are eaten themselves.

Seemingly House Sparrows are endangered so hopefully my small contribution is helping.

Fortunately my Millie sleeps during the day so smaller birds are safe, she could not care less about pigeons and squirrels are fine provided they do not invade her space.

Great pictures round here they hunt in packs, several cats surround the birds and pounce .
