I know he was't everyone's cup of tea but he made me laugh. I particularly remember the German character (not allowed now what with all the pc nonsense) in the big boots. I think the problem with Freddie was that he didn't know when to stop and was a bit of a liability when interviewed on TV.A household name though never the less.

He went on stage pretending to be Billy Fury , he sang one of Billy's songs and as he did his arms grew longer and longer , Freddie kept singing as the arms reached the floor , I so laughed . Freddie had a great singing voice . He was handsome too .Thankyou Freddie .

I;m very saddened to hear this news, he was a very funny man and brought so much laughter into my home. I'm grateful to him for that. Susan, I remember the scene you are talking about, it was hilarious.How lonely, depressed and sad many comedians seem to be such as Spike Milligan, Michael Barrymore, Robin Williams, Peter Sellers, Stephen Fry, Frankie Howard,Catherine Tate, Caroline Ahern and Freddie Starr.
RIP Freddie and thanks for making me laugh such a lot over the years.
