Re: Water Bills

I get the one bill from Essex and Suffolk Water for water and also includes the Thames water charges for sewage. My yearly total is about £120

Re: Water Bills

Mine is £404 a year to Severn Trent and that includes a reduction because the surface water doesn't go into the drains.
Considering I live alone that is a lot of money..

That is shocking Meg, especially as you live alone I would have thought a water meter would have been better for you...

Re: Water Bills

Just paid this quarter's water bill, it was £79.23.
Once again, as I said in another post, I never pay an estimated bill. I read all 3 meters - gas, electric, water.
If they over estimate I might not have enough, and if they under estimate, it piles up and up and you can end up owing a lot, so if I read the meters every quarter I keep on track.

Re: Water Bills

No water meters here. I pay £166 a year for water and £193 for sewage.
This is a lot less than I paid in Hampshire for a smaller house.

Council tax is just over £1000. All 3 charges come in a combined bill.

Ditto to all the above.

Any single person or a couple should get a water meter.

Re: Water Bills

I doubt if a water meter would save me anything. Our garden is very quick draining and although I have water butts to collect rainwater, I still use a lot of water to keep the fruit & vegetables going.

Unlike the west of Scotland, this is quite a dry area.
A lot of the rural properties here have their own wells and septic tanks. No rates, but some maintenance costs- emptying tank, new filters, water purity tests etc...
