Re: Defrosting the fridge/freezer
HINT. We always try to defrost our freezer when there is a very frosty night. Everything goes out of the freezer on to a newspaper base (or cold boxes) and gets put outside under several old blankets. Keeps 'em all cold if the frost breaks.Re: Defrosting the fridge/freezer
I "killed"a freezer trying to prise off ice with a knife. I'd stabbed the lining, something went "hiss", and I contributed to global warming without meaning to. Last time I defrosted another freezer I left the door open and turned on my dog dryer, it worked a treatRe: Defrosting the fridge/freezer
I own up to digging at the ice too - too impatient to wait for the hair dryer but I have a wooden spatula that my daughter made me in woodwork class many moons ago and with an ash pan it scoops up bread crumbs and peas that I always find on the bottom.
