If the trousers weren't pulled up on sitting, the area round the knee would be stretched tight and the all important crease would disappear.Jeans don't usually have creases.

Re: Hey you chaps...

I've got smart casual clothes - Ralph Lauren shirts and jerseys and nice trousers but don't wear suits these days.

Hey!
Haven’t you heard?
One is not supposed to talk about knees anymore, in case someone wants to touch them!

Moi? No! Never in a month of Sundays.
Teflon coated stain repellent trousers ... presumably to fry eggs on.

Re: Hey you chaps...

This thread reminded me of Jason King in the tv series, Department ‘S’!

In the early 1970’s, my ex husband always wore a suit with a waistcoat at work and when we were out socially.
He always had a fob watch with a chain attached but not the shirt sleeves folded back like Jason King!

I found this pic of Jason King. I want to laugh as it is so dated!!
Is that a kipper tie he’s wearing?

Re: Hey you chaps...

We rarely see a man in a beautiful elegant well cut suit these days, apart from Weddings sometimes. Men in uniform always look smart as well

It is comfort above all else even if the clothes are not flattering

I love to watching "The Great Gatsby with Mia Farrow and Robert Redford, just to see the lovely elegant fashions worn in that era, by men and women.

And who buys all the beautiful fashions in the shops as I don't see anyone wearing them

In France and Italy men and women used to wear best clothes to go for a walk or shopping. Maybe they still do!

Same here Pesta. Discretion and decorum at all times.

Scientific observation of the male form and the mysteries of their hidden anatomy used to fascinate me so I just happened to spot these things.
