Attempted child abduction

Local school red van, this morning, man and woman tried to tempt two little girls of five out of the gates. Luckily teacher in the playground and the cleaner just leaving site took off at breakneck speed to grab the girls and hustle them back inside. Police attended.

Keep the kids safe make sure even the little ones don't go with anyone that mum or dad haven't told them to.

Scary these two were open to happily getting into a van to look at kittens.

Did they manage to get anything useful for the police, like descriptions of the people and the van? This is indeed scary.

Re: Attempted child abduction

How strange that two five year olds were near an unlocked gate this is not the way that most primary schools operate these days . The children are kept in the classroom until they are collected .During playtime the gates are always locked and fences are high and usually made so that the children cannot be seen from outside.

Re: Attempted child abduction

Years ago with 5 years olds+, the parents stayed with their children and didn't leave until the bell went and they saw their children into school. School gates were then locked. A bad lapse on the school's part I think

Re: Attempted child abduction

When I was 6 I walked to school on my own and at senior school traveled 15 miles to school by bus. It was what most kids did, but it was rare for a child to go missing then.
Sadly there are a lot more evil people now who get satisfaction from abusing, or even killing children. Parents must be afraid of letting their children out of their sight, but you have to let go of their hand one day, and no matter how old they are they still may be at risk! Isn't it time that we made punishments for abducting, or even trying to abduct a child, very HARSH!
We are too soft on criminals now, so we need to frighten children by telling them what may happen if they talk to a stranger, hold their hands till they are adults, or bring back capital punishment...... or are we still going to have people who think it is ok because we will make these perverts better with a few years in prison!

Re: Attempted child abduction

School has five entrances four foot fall entrances are always locked when kids are in side as they should be, but the gates for car park at the side are only locked over night. There is constant traffic in and out so it would be near impossible to lock them. The kids aren't supposed to be anywhere near them but daring gets better of them sometimes.

Don't blame the school it's perverts and the like that are at fault. Only on off would the school be to blame

Re: Attempted child abduction

At rosies school , teacher calls out mum and dads name , child is not allowed to leave her until parents are seen . It's a terrible situation , very worrying for all concerned . What a world we live in .
