Yes, I don't need to over-complicate things.

Dreamy I like to explore places on google earth. I always have a wander around before visiting a place. But sometimes it is interesting just randomly picking somewhere. Have you ever tried doing that?

No, the places I do go are quite fixed. I can't remember the last time I was on a bus even.

Re: I can't get out much

Hi Ffosse

When I was suffering panic attacks recently I found deep breathing exercise helped immensely. Panic attacks can be very frightening, I am so sorry to hear you are suffering them.

Wish I lived close by, I would come by and walk with you to the shops.

I know you are quite ill but I so admire how you try your best to keep positive, you are an inspiration, keep that positive head on and if you feel you are going to have a panic attack, come and post here, we are all here for you, we are your friends and care about you.

Great big hugs from me my friend

Re: I can't get out much

So sorry to hear your probs.Ffoss,They sound like mine.I Know my breathing is made worse by anxiety but it is a vicious circle,The more you feel ill the more you become anxious, the more anxious the worse you feel. I feel too weak to walk very far,I keep meaning to walk out front a few houses a day,but havent managed it yet.Maybe we can help each other.Getting a pet is not a good idea, we have a dog & I love him dearly ,but I dont feel well enough to do much for him,my son looks after him

Re: I can't get out much

I agree that getting a dog will just multiply your problems.
I used to get panic attacks and these are the things that helped me a LOT.

Deep breathing ! As soon as panic starts, focus on breathing only. Take deep slow breaths.

Repeat a short mantra that helps calm you done. It should be as personal as you can make it to help you and only you.

Rescue Remedy ! It’s a homeopathic remedy made for panic symptoms and works very well.

Plan small trips at first to gain your confidence back.

Call a trusted friend and talk with them as you go outside. Hearing a friends voice should really help you.
