One more plank to fit ( the awkward one) then all taken down to counter sink holes and damp proof the top side. Then final fix ( quadrant where necessary along edges) after re-connection of outside lamp. Final finish not far away.

Today the tiler has repaired the roof and now all the boards have been treated on the top (unseen) side and fixed in position. Lamp now connected up and working and the cable hidden in void.

Next is to add quadrant edging where necessary and mastic up. Also there is a strip on each outside of the supports that need to have knotted pine strips added. then it all painted up

If, as he should have, your roofer used breathable felt then you would not have needed the slotted vents in the soffit.

he only need to replace half the felt apparently and I did the vents beforehand

All done now bar painting. insulating tape is holding quadrant in place until wood glue dries

all painted up the front porch roof and waiting for it to dry.

Even though I say it myself, it came out a lot better than I expected
