Would it be possibly to have moving pictures without a computer running them?

Hi Tiff

Well we have those electronic picture frames (I actually have one) so I don't think it would be too difficult to get the pictures moving a bit. In fact I believe they are already available to play your own videos from your phone.

I forgot about those but have never seen one working.

Re: Digital doodles

There are quite a number of moving pictures around. A search for 'moving wall pictures' will find some.

It's quite funny with the moving clouds picture. They appear to move but don't actually go anywhere. Just the same bit of cloud showing over and over again.

Re: Digital doodles

What lies beneath the moving pictures:

The masked area (in red) is the part of the picture that will remain static. The mask can be painted on as shown or a border drawn around it instead. I found painting an overall mask easier. The area with the arrows will move in the direction of the arrows. More or fewer arrows determine how the image moves.

the masked area on the right of the sky is necessary to stop the edge of the photo being dragged into the movement.

Going by experience, the mask has to overlap into moving area quite a bit to stop the part that should remain static from animating.

Interesting! So I'm guessing that it only works with wispy clouds or water as a solid object such as a car would show a double image??

Re: Digital doodles

We should mess around with each other's pics, see what we can come up with. Anyone want to 'edit' one of mine? Just look here in Photos and Art and any thread started by me.

Anyone got any pics for me to play with?

Maybe post on a new thread???

I did Google but they aren't cheap to buy. Don't think I'd like one anyway, if you got fed up with it it's a lot to pay out for one. I do have some 3D pics on my walls, small ones, post card size & mainly of horses.
