My brother loved them too, Galty. However I never saw the point of 'slapstick' type humour. Didn't like things like Mr Pastry, Marx Brothers, Keystone Cops, Old Mother Riley et al for the same reason.

I still like some of L & H's films, and I love their gentle dance routines too. Could never stand Abbott and Costello or Charlie Chaplin though.

Groucho Marx was the epitomy of wit. Wonderful one liners from the man.

wonderful 2 to watch .we used to watch their films when they was on -- loved them both -and groucho was brilliant too ' such a witty man -my fav was when the marks bros where on the train and everyone was coming in their carriage .sheer laughter … old Hollywood is fading i'am sad to say '

There’s a film coming out about laurel and hardy, can’t remember who’s playing them, I think it could be Steve coogan playing laurel, but I’m probably wrong , look out for the trailer it looks good..

Stan had had a stroke and Ollie must have had cancer.
