Elf on the Shelf

I think they're very creepy and ugly about as endearing as Krampus.
I knitted a cuter one for my great grandson because I didn't want him having nightmares.

Did your kids have one or their kids?
I think it's another US tradition that sneaked over.

I agree I knitted a couple of fairy on the shelves and a unicorn, much prettier I thought. Relatively easy to create too with left over bits of eye lash wool and bright pink I had left over from a cardigan I did last year.

No they're horrid, they remind me of ventriloquists' dummys!
I can see a horror film starring them one day, like Chucky or whatever it was called.

It's the look of them that's creepy, if they were cute or like Julie's fairies it woukdn't be so bad.

Never heard of them before so had to Google it. I think they are a good idea because every night, they return to the North Pole to tell Santa whether you have been good or not..... Maybe not then.

What are we talking about here, is it garden gnomes you mean?
I've never seen a knitted one.
Any pictures please?

I googled it , not only do you get a picture , but also what they are meant for ..
Not nice for the child to think its being spied on , to see if its naughty or not .
