Mags do you remember when Admin used to call his female Mods (Carole, Anne, Leslie, Mags and Meg who share the sites between us ) 'babes' which I used to find endearing, he doesn't do it now.

I once said to a lady in a Company Reception area...."thanks very much for the info love" The reply was "I am not your love thank you very much" to which I replied, "neither are you ever likely to be, thank God."
It was just the haughty stuck up way she said it, I meant nothing by saying the word, it is natural where I come from.

I am not offended by these names and l don't complain to the person saying them, l just find them cringeworthy.
I suppose, it's a sign of how much the American language is infiltrating the UK.
