Re: What Do You Do When You Want To Kill Time?

Depends where the bus will take you! When I used to take mine to Nissan I'd sit in their waiting area and help myself to coffee, and read. Nowadays I'd use a garage closer to home and maybe go back and wait for a call, or go shopping, if they don't have a customer lounge like Nissan.

We don't know where your garage is, or what's in your area, but I'd go on a short bus ride.

Just a thought if you ask nicely before the day our garage will arrange a lift Ho e for you and come back and get you when it's ready. Used that service many times.

I'm having my car serviced on Friday. I'm having it collected, serviced and returned so I can get on with my life in the meantime .....

In the same position I would get on the bus into a small town, buy a book or magazine, and then find a nice coffee shop to read it, whilst drinking my coffee..... you can always have another coffee if you need to stay longer.

As it's an MOT then I'd stay and watch.
As brakes are one of the main failure points I want to see them checked and see the pressure readings on the machine......I don't trust garages.

Re: What Do You Do When You Want To Kill Time?

The garage that we use the owner lives a couple of minutes from us so he picks our car up and leaves his outside for collection later. He puts the invoice through the door and we pay when we are next passing the garage.

That way I can get on with my day. When you have to kill time I find you do nothing but look at your watch all the time to see if it is time to go back.

Old Grey fox and Longdogs, see me in my room later for punishments! I think Art was asking for sensible suggestions....and neither of yours were.
