If so who will they cry foul to and what are they likely to

Most likely one of the 150 or so WTO member countries, any of them. Maybe one with a grudge against the UK, maybe one that feels its attempts to trade under WTO with UK or EU are being undermined by an unfair open border. The UK might attempt to ignore such complaints and demands from the WTO organisation ... but its going to be desperate to be seen as a good global trading partner. Not seen as a dodgy, leaky border banana republic. So expect the UK to be building those customs check points regardless of the (empty) promises from the government.

It is not a matter of predicting, it is a matter of law transgression And it's consequences. If someone transgresses law and rapes his neuughbour, and he is accused of that, do you need a crystal ball to predict whether he will be prosecuted?

You certainly do as very few rapes actually go to court. But we are always rule takers that's why eu is not good for us. We do what we are told follow the rules whereas few others bother. So we end up very much worse of than for instance the French. Our farmers follow rules theirs don't.

But it is the countries outside of eu that trade with open
borders Gascony, it is the eu that operates tariffs against
those other countries prevent them undercutting german &
french interests? WE (l mean US)UK as a nation will in fact
be joining a free trade area and leaving a protectionist
biased one!
As we have little manufacturing capacity anymore it is in our
interests to have access to cheaper goods and discontinue
paying billions to have our affairs managed by a third party?

But we will be OUT of eu by then Solly, and working under

they are operating under their own eu rules NOT Wto rules?
That would be like uk leaving eu and then complaining
about an eu country to the commission?
I think we would get short shrift??

Donks, you're trying me on! You cannot be that ignorant?
Both the UK and the netherlands are members of the EU, but we are also both members if the wto. Trading with each other is under EU rules, but both our countrues trade with countries all over the world that are not in the EU, but are in the wto. With those each of us trades under wto rules.
