Re: Product Changes

I'm always buying those pump action hand soaps, you twist them & then they still don't work so you have to decant them into an old one or, as I have bought a decorative one & just fill it up. Surf washing liquid! Grrr, I can never get the plastic measure off the top so I can't unscrew it, only buy it on special offer.
I wonder what happens to all the things that disappear from the shelves, do the companies stop making them or go out of business. Years ago I used to like Tyne Brand tinned minced beef, fresh stuff was always too fatty and chewy, that vanished, then it was Mrs Beeton's apple tarts, Prit gel glue, never found another one as good at sticking everything and McVities apple bakes, changed beyond the realms of decent taste...

Re: Product Changes

Rebrands usually come in smaller packages, in my view.

And here's a question on disappearing goods. Whatever happened to Camay? I think that would make a new thread...members listing their favourite items that have disappeared from the shelves.

Oh, and why don't Sainsburys sell Toast Topper?

Re: Product Changes

I think all these companies get caught up in the “New improved, smart new slick bottle” rage, non slip out of your hands containers, longer lasting, etc. most of them are longer lasting because you can’t get the new top off to use them, child proof caps drive me nuts, it’s a good idea to write down how you opened it because when you go to do it again you will have forgotten the combination of hand contortions you had to use before you got lucky the first time, the caps are usually white and so are the written instructions making it impossible to read without a microscope, they just can’t leave well enough alone can they?
