Er indoors.

I've noticed on a lot of forums men refer to their wives as 'Er indoors'
Personally I hate it and if my Tony referred to me like that I would wallop him over the head.

How do you feel about it?

This question to men & women.

Re: Er indoors.

My husband always refers to me as "my wife" to others.

I definitely wouldn't like to be known as 'Er indoors'

Can't say it worries me if said with affection, actions always speak louder than words I think and I don't think when my granddad used to call my Nan she who must be obeyed he was being anything but loving and affectionate. Equally when she referred to him as the old b*stard she was devoted to him really and it was said with great affection.

Quite right Julie, you can tell whether or not something is said with malice. I sometime refer to Sheila as 'er indoors but not in a derogatory way.

Re: Er indoors.

I've never referred to Hubs as 'the ol man' don't like it, but it goes back a long way, its Patsy by him and I use his name, its obvious we're married - the twinkles still there
