Just another example of how soft british law is. The problem is there are too many "Do Gooders" being listened to by those with authority, and the average person is totally ignored. From what I understand people have to have hope and to keep the prison population calm the hope is doled out by cutting time off their sentences. I am not convinced that is right and perhaps we need to find some other way to keep them calm other than letting them out before time. Although do we have any evidence an extra year or two will actually change a person and make them behave better ? perhaps prison should be more about rehabilitation and less about punishment ?Re: A serious crime
