Whitechapel will probably soon change entirely because it will offend twice over.

Once for use of White, second for use of chapel.

I really wouldn't be in the least bit surprised if it was renamed something like Chaudhary fields (after Chaudhary Rahmat Ali), after all the terrorist Mandela has been inflicted on us in the renaming of existing streets and houses.

The reasoning behind the motion was daft, considering the clusters of white painted houses make it obvious why the town was given that description.

However, I rather like the new signage the Council has chosen

Charles Kingsley's “Little white town”

It puts in the context, so the PC brigade can’t complain, and puts in the historical link with the famous author who gave it that name, so those who weren’t aware will learn how the town got its name.

So, all’s well that ends well.

I first heard the term snowflake on the television program called 'Love Thy Neighbour' in the 1970s.

I can't really work out who these people are unless they tour the country pointing out 'racist signs'. Since moving to Devon, I have only ever met level headed people who refuse to subscribe to all this butt clenching nonsense (apart from a few outside Sainsbury's who want to reverse you know what)
