Re: Tonys memory box.

Aww - well thanks everybody.x

I do all I can to keep his brain active & nudge his memory. I give him jigsaw puzzles to do - and when we go round Tesco's I give him a pen & pad to reckon the shopping up on as we go along - he gets it right too.

We can't just let this thing get him without a fight.

I love that idea, Carol - clever gal, well done.
I imagine making it will bring good memories back for you as well.
I am sure he will enjoy looking through it, and I hope it helps him remember the happy days..

Re: Tonys memory box.

It can be a nasty illness but you are doing the right thing Carol. Memory triggers can help a lot. Well done.

Re: Tonys memory box.

Thanks again everybody.

He gets so frustrated not being able to remember places.

It works too. Yesterday our son said to us ' Ok see you at the Woodend on Tues'
We had arranged to meet them there for a meal..

Where's the 'Woodend' said Tony. 'Look in your memory box' said I.

He looked - 'Oh yeah I remember it' he said.

It will save him asking me the same question a dozen times over.

Re: Tonys memory box.

What a kind, thoughtful thing to do Carol I know how hard this illness can be we went through it with my mother in law, but it seems you are doing everything to help him through it and good for you.

My wife and I wish you and your husband all the best for the future.
