The Carpenters...

Does anybody remember them these days?

I have a record I bought brand new in 1973 called "The Singles 1969-1973".

I can't listen to this song and not cry:

Re: The Carpenters...

i love the Carpenters--i have all their cds, plus quite a few dvds including some rare ones. As far as I am concerned, there has never been a vioice like Karen's. My favourite cd, which I also think was the last one they had released is called "As time goes by" where Karen sings a duet with Ella Fitzgerald---i also have dvd of this. Just wonderful.

Re: The Carpenters...

They were and still are my favourite group. Karens voice was always so crystal clear and the backing band with Richards piano made the sound what it was. I too have every recording and this time of year I look forward to playing their Christmas album at least once a day.

I still have my Carpenters Collection 3 Boxed LPs. I loved Karens voice and sometimes sang their songs at Karaoke evenings

Re: The Carpenters...

They were my favourites, and I often play their songs. It was so sad the way life turned out for Karen, she had a wonderful voice. Many of their hits are on You Tube.

I have never quite forgiven Karen for leaving us.
