His view is not welcome, especially today.

Has he got a book coming out or something?
Yes, he's wrong about Remembrance Day and poppies. A stupid thing to say especially now as you say, Cinderella.
He is spot on about politicians not being worth their pay though.

I'm sick of people like him making others question the poppy wearing tradition and Remembrance day celebrations.. He can stick his conceited opinions.

Re: Stark, raving Starkey

It is a bit hypocritical though of all the people who voted to remain in the EU and sold Britain and the soldiers down the river..

The remainers should not be allowed to fly the union flag either, when they are voting to replace it with the blue starry thing...

The meaning of the Rememberance Poppy.

Red for the blood that was spilled.
Black for the mourning of those left behind.
Green for the new growth on the fields of battle.
The leaf at eleven o'clock, symbolising the time when the guns fell silent.

Re: Stark, raving Starkey

Starkey has always been a bit "off his head" with some of his opinions. It's no surprise the BBC won't have him on Question Time anymore, although his views on the EU are pretty much spot on.

The conversation should turn to Corbyn and his 100% track record in opposing British Military action, our membership of NATO and his campaign to get rid of Trident (he is still I think the chairperson of CND believe it or not).

If you want swivel eyed lunacy when it comes to defence and our armed forces, look no further than the Jermey Corbyn, who incidentally has no problem supporting our enemies who terrorise us and those who wish to do us harm.

When Corbyn wears a poppy its the biggest insult.

Always reminded of the quote attributed to Voltaire in situations as such.
Isn't it just why we remember such terrible waste of live's for these very moments.

I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.

Starkey has a new book coming out in conjunction with a new television series coming out in December called "Monarchy", so it is obvious it is just to get his egotistical self more publicity. What a Cretin.

Re: Stark, raving Starkey

Rudyard Kipling was very pro-war until his sons got killed in WW1.

It's very easy to adopt a stance until such time as one is faced with having to physically defend it.
