Re: How Useful Are Walking Sticks For Those With Balance Problems?

Hi

I used crutches a leg brace and then walking sticks for 7 years.

I still have a slight limp.

I find this thread somewhat arrogant and uncaring.

Neither of us claim benefits and we bought our sticks and crutches ourselves. I would hate to think that some folk thought we were "wanting to look deserving" and therefore claiming benefits.

I have seen disability scooters parked at a local pub. They have fun personal number plates on them, with their initials followed by number 1.

The question itself is rather silly anyway.
a) Most people don't have any "empathy" for benefits cheats - particularly those who choose to work for a living. Do you?

b) Asking how useful people find (or have experience of) likely benefits of using a walking stick to aid balance, is a perfectly reasonable question.

If you have no interest or idea, you are probably better off on another thread. Or perhaps find a hobby.

Hi

I was seriously injured at work.

Doing what I was paid for, which was protecting the Public.

Yes, it was my choice to do so, I do not complain.

I loathe Terrorists, they have no place on this earth.

I object strongly to the suggestion that using a walking stick is an an indication of a reliance on Benefits.

Ignore him Swim.

He is just an arrogant oaf who knows very little, so enjoys stirring.
