There's not enough room for a mower, I may get someone to wave a strimmer at it!

Re: Getting rid of lawns

Hi Tessa,
I have two areas in my garden in which I have replaced grass about eight years ago. In one I put down pebbles which looked and kept well for about four years after that it has been spoiled by my neighbors overhanging tree depositing needles and cones, I am now in the process of removing the pebbles and planting up the whole area with shrubs and bark in between which will blend in with my neighbors deposits. The other area I laid artificial grass which has been trouble free I just hoover it once a year twice if I am unlucky.

That sounds nice Brian!
I wish I hadn't left lots of new paving slabs at my old place, I couldn't get them moved.
I wonder if I cut the artificial grass into a natural shape if it would look ok?
Must find my camera and post some pics.

Re: Getting rid of lawns

Shame about having to leave the paving slabs behind Tessa that could have been a permanent solution. The artificial grass is very heavy if you buy it in one piece but I did glance at some one meter square artificial grass in B&Q that fits together like carpet tiles and is easy to cut with a Stanley knife; a decent option if on a budget.
