Those are unusual Shirley Cant remember seeing those before.

Another swamp lily, much more plentiful than the first one. Wild hogs love lily roots and demolish the patches of them.

Not a lily but a lovely swamp flower anyway...common name is Texas Star, gros 10 feet tall. the flowers are dinner plate size. You would get your feet wet if you picked any!

Nothing is as awesome as the season when the wild iris blooms in the Florida marshes. Sometimes they are in huge patches, as far as you can see are all the blue blooms..They blossom over a long period too. Are about waist tall to me and the flowers are a nice size.

Many, many waterlilies in the swamps. I have seen many baby allegators resting on lily pads so I always looked carefully in August and September, the months when the gators hatched. A baby gater is very cute..
