Building at last.

Trip to the lake today, and at last the older pair of Great-crested grebes on the large lake are setting up home. The younger pair on the small lake seem to have lost their first batch of eggs, a guilty looking Heron is my choice of villain.

Only one pair of Mute Swans nesting, the Male is busy crossing the roads and bulliying all and sundry.

Friendly Jackdaw.

The lake bully.

Super sharp pics Nom! Great! Thanks for sharing them.

Last week in the Highlands, the pea hen was the boss. The ducks went nowhere near her when food was put down! She really called the shots

Lovely photographs as always Nom

Nesting: I washed a wool jumper yesterday and left it on the line over night, when I got up this morning a blue tit was pecking it taking wool for a nest I guess.I have never seen anything like that before. The jumper is ok and hole free

Thanks folks for looking and leaving a comment, always appreciated. Nice to hear about your experiences as well. Go on spoil your birds Meg Angora or Cashmere will make lovely linings for nesting birds.
