Think Sue still has some silver sixpences but doesn't put them in the Christmas pudding any more. My Sister and I love that tradition as kids, realising now the pudding was cut in such a way were always got one each. Used to change them with parents for spending money, usually about half a crown

I remember the silver threepenny pieces in our Christmas puddings. Had this tradition not died out naturally I reckon the 'Elf & Safety' people would have banned it anyway – far too much of a risk of choking on a coin would have been the reason given I expect!
