Dental insurance

I am with a company called DenPlan for private dental treatment. is it worth it? Depends on insurance cover/ cost

So lets put it this way , this year I have had 2 fillings and an examination by a dentist who only sees private patients.
The last filling was 2 days ago and only rang for an apointment the day before.
So already I have had my monies worth on the insurance for this year

Re: Dental insurance

I have dental insurance, I had no choice when my dentist ceased to take NHS patients anymore following the introduction of the 'new contracts' by Tony Blair in 2006 .
If I wanted to stay with the practice I had to take the insurance on offer by them .

All the other local dentists became private patients practices only.

I pay about 6 a month, that gives me access to a dentist, a free clean and polish once a year and a % off the cost of treatment.

Re: Dental insurance

Our dental plan payments have only gone up in line with inflation

Re: Dental insurance

Private dental treatment is the way to go. Make sure your torturer is list on the General Dental Council website: http://olr.gdc-uk.org/SearchRegister and if you have particular problems get a Restorative Specialist to sort you out......worth every penny, particularly suing a dentist for incompetence!

I can recommend Westfield Health..........I pay about 19 per month and it gives me lots of stuff I hope I never need.........BUT also about 150 per year dental treatment AND about 120 every two years for glasses and optical stuff. Result? I pay very little of the stuff I hope I never need and get all my dental and optical stuff paid for!

Re: Dental insurance

I can't speak for the UK, but in the US .... my advice for anyone choosing dental ins. is to pay for the better ins. that allows you to choose any dentist. It is best to choose dentists that OWN their own office. Stay away from corporate dentists that are simply employees with no vested interest in the practice.

I can say this because I am in the field.
