I Would Like To Make A Face Mask. Has Anyone Got A Simple Pattern? Please

My daughter’s mother in law made a lovely one for her but she’s away and my daughter can’t ask her for the pattern.
It has a join in the middle with elastic loops to go round the ears.

I have looked on YouTube but some seem a bit more complicated.
Some have an airtex lining. Is that really necessary and what could l use instead?
Is cotton the best fabric to use for the mask, or doesn’t it matter?

Thank You for any help you can give..

Thank You, Meg. I will have a look.
I couldn’t remember seeing anything on the forum about making a mask, as l usually just look on the General section and Latest threads.

I also had a feeling, l had posted this in the wrong section. Sorry.

Edited to say, l see the thread was posted in May, when face masks weren’t compulsory to wear in shops and supermarkets.
This is why, l missed it!!

My pattern is almost identical to Meg's, very simple, I use 3 layers of cotton fabric.

Mine don't have wire, they fit snuggly without. They're reversable so would be difficult to bend it both ways. If I was to add some I'd use garden wire making sure the ends were bent in a small circle and stitch in place.

You could use pipe cleaners or the wire from disposable masks if you have been using them.
