We have a Golf. Lovely car.
We have planned to replace it on its third birthday in March, but of course things might change.

I'm hoping that VW are going to be forced into reducing their prices because of Brexit and a consequent loss of sales. We shall see.

When the time comes, we shall certainly compare what equivalents are available from the Far East and certainly compare prices. It's just common sense.

When I rented cars in Asia on several occasions I made very good experiences with Hondas and Nissans. Therere were models (names forgotton) which I would buy if they were availlable in Germany.

About VW being forced to reduce prices I am very skeptical. I would not bet on it and rather think of a re-imported car. That saved me 7000 EUR the last time.

Reducing prices, by say 5%, will be offset by tarifs the UK imposes because of WTO, which on cars is 10%. I would look around for a good british car like the mini.

That's fine.

As I said, I really like our Golf, but I'm sure we could get to like a far eastern alternative.

Do the Cloggies make cars?
Which brand(s)?

I thought they only make cheese (horrible rubbery stuff) and flowers.

If you can afford one - and 80% of British made cars are exported - certainly a large percentage to Europe

Which cars are actually made in the UK?

Aston Martin
Bentley Motors
Caterham Cars
Honda
Jaguar
Land Rover
Lotus Cars
McLaren Automotive
MINI
Morgan Motor Company

The Toffs and the Plebs killed all that off in some sort of battle, pity it wasn't a charm offensive.
