Higher tarriffs only means we will buy less, so who is going to loose out? not us

Hi

We still need to buy food and goods.

These Tariffs apply to all Imports, not just those from the EU.

We need Free Trade Deals.

Agree with you there Percy. I cannot recall when Country File last painted a positive slant on reports. They are always so negative. But it's only what we have come to expect from the media establishment.

As I said, no problem at all. Furthermore congestions at the ends of the tunnel are avoided.

No quite .
Bananas come on refrigerated ships they are then ripened by the use of ethylene gas.

We will grow the easiest crops and harvest them ourselves .
We certainly don’t need labour intensive crops like Broccoli
We have people , unemployed people they will have to go to work on the fields .
We managed before we will manage again.

Perhaps we can rely on them as a trade partner.

In fact, quite a lot of Commonwealth nations are in the southern hemisphere and we are on good terms with most of them.

Sod the EU! Who needs them?
Yes! Uk allowed them to rejoin when apartheid ended!
And they could do with a bit of help by the sound of it??

Whats wrong with making individual free trade deals then Swimmy??!
Isnt that what leaving the E U is all about??
To make it easier we dont have to force our new trading partners
to import any unwanted goods from us either as we now have
little to export anyway!!

Hi

Absolutely nothing wrong with that.

They have to be proper Free Trade Deals however otherwise we fall foul of WTO Rules.

We could Import just about everything we need cheaper, but then we would have mass unemployment and would be entirely dependant upon other Countries.

No other Country in the World does that, with good reason.

Ah! That's why farmers, and Country Files as their promotion channel, paint such a dreary future without the EU.

Well donks, you had 46 free trade deals as EU member. You lost those. The UK has rolled a few minor ones over.
You are trying to negotiate new individual trade deals withusa, australia, new zealand and japan. Of which japan gave you six weeks to accept what they offered. Of the 6 weeks four remain.

If you have nothing to export, why close a trade deal? You lower your tarif and the other party need not do the same?
