Hammering Down.

Hi

Things are evil here, serious wind and downpours.

We have had to turn the volume up on the TV.

Today is aquarium moving time, marine aquarium has gone pop, so swapping over time.

Guy and I are shattered, both ill, but have moved over a ton of stuff , furniture and contents of the marine tank.

Zac and Derek are late, delayed by the weather, stuck in traffic.

The person we are buying the tank off is also stuck because of an accident.

As the saying goes, the best laid plans of mice and men.

Such is life.

Good Job we have a sense of humour.

Did the bairn enjoy her birthday at least? Not ruined by the weather.

ETA - just had a severe weather warning alert on my phone - torrential rain (again) and gale-force winds approaching.

Hi

Yes, Nadi did.

Both pretend Grandad, me, and Guy, got her things she really wanted but off the Radar for Mum and Dad.

A Griffindor Hoody from me.

Guy got her stick on Tattoos , they wash off but great fun for a 10 year old.

He also got her a great fun present.

A Text to her Mum.

Thanks for your order, your baby Gorilla will be arriving tomorrow.

Hi

I have been scammed.

The tank I bought has arrived, but minus the LED Lights, sand and decor.

Zac and Derek collected it in good faith, they are no experts.

The filter has also been swapped for a cheaper one.

No response from the vendor.

I am not a happy womble.

Not like you to be scammed, Swimmy. If you paid through credit card or paypal can they sort it for you?

Take it steady, Swimmy, you and Guy need to look after each other.

Hi

Thank you for your lovely posts ST.

I have shared them with Guy and he is well impressed.

We are being sensible, the Marine Tank is very high maintenance and expensive to boot.

Guy shares my love of fish, so we are swapping over to a bigger version of the tank he had in his bedroom with all his favourite fish.

It will take only an hour a fortnight to maintain, and all done by pumps, no more lifting huge amounts of water.

I have all the gear, being a scientist, to make sure the fish are OK if we are both away for a month.

I will post some pictures later when we have set it up, of the filtration system.

It will be some months before it is mature and fully stocked.

You cannot rush nature.

Re: Hammering Down.

Do you still have the corals or did they fall victim to the last tank failure?
Sounds like a lot of hard work for you both - but fun as well. I hope you had a good night and are both feeling rested today.

Hi

Nope, corals etc are gone.

No need for all the extra cost of Saltwater and daily checks.

Once set up it will be a saving of £80 a month and Guy can have his favourite fish.

He had them from the age of 8 until he left for Uni.

I will post photos later as the project continues.
