Re: Impeachment of Donald Trump

https://trendingpolitics.com/law-exp...ail-miserably/

Law expert and former House Rep. Bob Barr discussed Chuck Schumer’s big mistake concerting the upcoming impeachment trial of President Donald J. Trump.

Barr contends that Trump will be easily acquitted in the Senate trial simply due to some very specific wording in the constitution that almost disqualifies Trump from even being tried in the first place.

“If there was perhaps one mistake our Founders made in drafting the Constitution, it was presuming that future members of the Legislative Branch would be sufficiently competent to actually read the document to which they all had sworn an oath,” Barr begins.

To pay is what decent business people do.

Trump, however, is not a decent business man.

"a USA TODAY NETWORK analysis found Trump has been involved in more than 3,500 lawsuits over the past three decades — and a large number of those involve ordinary Americans, like the Friels, who say Trump or his companies have refused to pay them.

Among them: a dishwasher in Florida. A glass company in New Jersey. A carpet company. A plumber. Painters. Forty-eight waiters. Dozens of bartenders and other hourly workers at his resorts and clubs, coast to coast. Real estate brokers who sold his properties. And, ironically, several law firms that once represented him in these suits and others.

Trump’s companies have also been cited for 24 violations of the Fair Labor Standards Act since 2005 for failing to pay overtime or minimum wage, according to U.S. Department of Labor data. That includes 21 citations against the defunct Trump Plaza in Atlantic City and three against the also out-of-business Trump Mortgage LLC in New York. Both cases were resolved by the companies agreeing to pay back wages.

On just one project, Trump’s Taj Mahal casino in Atlantic City, records released by the New Jersey Casino Control Commission in 1990 show that at least 253 subcontractors weren’t paid in full or on time, including workers who installed walls, chandeliers and plumbing.

Now he needs lawyers...

"Doing business with Mr. Trump — with his history of inflammatory rhetoric, meritless lawsuits and refusal to pay what he owes — has long induced heartburn among lawyers, contractors, suppliers and lenders."

"Trump refusing to pay Rudy Giuliani's legal fees after falling out."

"Trump's legal pickings are slim to pathetic. They are either past their expiration date or loony—maybe both. Thus far, it's almost a Who's Who list of ardent Trump supporters who are no longer available to represent him when he needs them most."

I see, your demonising Trump again. Your snow blind to the "hate Trump, Trump is bad mantra".

It's quite normal to have loads of law suits against a company, especially the size of Trumps and especially when he employs so many people is such a diverse number of markets.

Look at how many law suits are against the NHS for negligence, harassment, wrongful death, malpractice etc etc. Would you have the same level of hate for the NHS as you do Donald Trump ? The NHS has around 17,000 law suits a year against it... what do you make of that ?

If contractors don't get paid its usually because of one of two things.

1. An admin oversight
2. They did a crap job

Re: Impeachment of Donald Trump

From previous link.

Despite all of the legal advantages that Trump has in this trial, it is apparent that Democrats are going to do everything they can to push it through anyways.

Sadly (for them), a growing number of GOP Senators oppose a move to “convict” Trump in a Senate trial, meaning their efforts will be all for naught.

All this will do is waste weeks of previous legislative time and further blockade Coronavirus aid to the American people.

Sadly, the Democrats care more about revenge than they do helping our country.

If this impeachment fails, so does President Biden. Imo

This guy appears to realize how dangerously out of control this is becoming.

I couldn't agree more Cinderella.

If Trump isn't convicted for inciting insurgence (which I very much doubt he will be) then the democrats are still going to try and get a ruling to prevent him running for President again anyway.

This will be the final nail in the coffin for Pelosi, Harris and Biden (and the entire Democratic Party) and Trump will be seen as a martyr.

Then its goodbye democrats.

Not impressed by either men, but President Biden will be weakened at a time when America desperately needs strength from him and his administration. Let this go and focus on the people.

Re: Impeachment of Donald Trump

The only way that the USA will unite is when the democrats stop dragging out the election.

The impeachment will go on and on and the longer it does the more its winding everyone up. In the middle of a pandemic when Biden has a golden opportunity to make headway into Covid recover of the economy he focusses on stupid stunts and pandering to the hard left.

No country can ever be united when the people are sidelined.
