Ah.
You obviously missed the word "could" - and I trust the OBR's estimates about as much as I trust the media publishing that, in other words not very much.

It really is time this sort of nonsense stopped.

Project fear being pushed by the Independent as per usual. The article does not state that the UK has lost £800 million due to brexit border controls, the article states that the UK could lose £800 million and a point worth noting, the figure of £800 million is a figure that has been 'predicted' and thus is not the actual figure that will be lost. As I said, project fear on the rise again.

Hi

Belive what you want.

Are we doing fantastic or are we having problems?

Time will tell

I am no Remainer, glad we are out but fed up with Boris and his lies.

You won't be able to tell for decades!
But in reality things are certainly going far, far better than our media would generally have you believe.

You're fed up with Boris?
Well most of us more sensible folk are probably far more fed up of the media's deliberate misinformation and outlook of doom and gloom.
As threads in this part of the forum alone amply demonstrate.

Try this instead of being despondent and negative:
I said and posted a while ago about UK lithium production and about a huge new factory being planned, specialising in car batteries for EV's among other things.
In that I said it would encourage manufacturers to use the UK.

Well looky here; today is news of Nissan performing an about-turn from the "we will leave" threats they've used since the referendum.
Today they have committed to building cars in the UK long-term and say:
"Brexit for Nissan is positive, and being the largest automaker in the UK, we will take this opportunity to redefine the industry here," Mr Gupta said.

"Brexit gives us the competitive advantage, not only in the UK, but outside the UK also. Because in how many [manufacturing] locations in Europe are the batteries localised? Very few.
"
https://news.sky.com/story/nissan-bo...ntage-12194667

https://www.reuters.com/article/uk-b...-idUSKBN29R016

If Nissan see opportunities as a major auto manufacturer, it can only bode well for others to follow.
As they say; there aren't many places in Europe where batteries are localised - and that's a major part of the build cost in the new era of car manufacturing.

Hi

Nope.

Leaving the EU was essential, that is why I voted Leave.

Being stupid about it is not clever, it costs us money.

I would not give them a penny if we did not have to.

Boris has messed up and given the advantage to the EU.

Not something I am happy with.

Seeing huge new opportunities being firmly grasped - and Nissan is just the precursor, I'm sure - is a long way from the "messing up" that you prescribe to Boris.
Like our vaccination strategy.

If that is "messing up" and giving the EU some supposed advantage (?) then I , along with many more I'm sure, am all for more of it and very happy thank you.

You seem to have an avid dislike of those who so far are proving beneficial to our country.
As posted elsewhere with your hatred of Priti Patel despite her crackdown on paedophiles, I find your illogical loathing at odds with somebody who supposedly wants the best for their country.

Which part of these "privileges" will the EU nobs miss most?

"Under the Vienna Convention governing diplomatic relations, envoys representing countries have certain privileges such as immunity from detention and, in some cases, prosecution, as well as tax exemptions."

That's another excellent reason not to grant diplomatic status IMHO.
"Tax exemptions"?
For EU quangos?
Who would ever have guessed that things like that are why they are moaning.
