Ye gods where did you get that figure from?
We've recently had a 35 foot 30 years old fir tree cut down and removed for £450, so for a twelve year old cherry how could it possibly come to that sort of figure?

I was basing that on the last tree we had removed which included entirely cutting out and removing the root. Probably about 40 years old. Not a cherry though to be fair, it was a form of willow apparently but not a weeping willow.

Our Hawthorn which we had pollarded was £300.
