Re: Do you have lighting problems taking photos?

I am wondering if it is your monitor that is out of focus. That picture is spot on on the nose and eyes. In yours the guard hairs on the body are well out. Also your crop has totally removed the surroundings which I wanted left . Anything will go out of focus if you zoom in as you have done. Nothing wrong with my setup as I had only just fine tuned the camera and lens with a spyderlensCal and that was spot on. using f1.8 gives very little DOF again not what I wanted as he background I wanted in the photo.
If you are happy with your set-up, calibration, use of depth of field, composition and general shot taking, then who am I to argue?

Others may well use different methods - depends on the photographic scenario.
You can easily improve your photographic skills by learning.
Why not have a look here:

We are all still learning and Mike Browne is English, lives in Hampshire, the video courses are free and is a multi award winning photographer.
I have learned so much from this guy.

I really not that bothered if they are not technically correct, they are not for competition or anything, just for my own pleasure.
I was surprised to read this but if it is so why not buy a compact camera?

You seem to have an amazing amount of expensive and bulky equipment and might be better off with a compact camera. I think it was one of the most sensible things I did getting a compact.

There are so many to choose from with an array of focal lengths, I am sure you would find one that suits you better than lugging about all the bulky equipment that you do. Decent compacts have a variety of options such as many different exposure modes, manual focus, aperture or speed priority as well as the ubiquitous auto mode. For your own pleasure they are perfect.

Not being critical just a suggestion.
