Once working in a Jewish household as a plumber(had a lot of Jewish customers)
The Jewish lady had refused to have her son mutilate.
Her In laws then ignored her and their grandchild, her husband good for him did stand by her.
Reason was a 7 year old child she had a brother born and was excited about the birth but the boy had this procedure done and died.
Interesting point in Jewish law is if the parents have had 3 sons who died because of this disgusting practice the FOURTH son will not be cut and allowed to keep his foreskin.
PS both practices are disgusting

Galty it's still not the same .It is mutilation I agree but the severity is no where near that of FGM.
Whilst there are some cases where things go wrong most often they do not.
Look at how many Jewish and Muslim men are alive and well and procreating !
FGM is not akin to removing the foreskin.
It more akin to cutting off the head of the penis .
It some cases the entire penis.
In severe cases of FGM the entire genital area is removed clitoris labia and all surrounding tissue .
It's then stitched up .
This cause terrible life long suffering .
I am going to be quite explicit here they cannot pass water or menstrual blood easily .
They have terrible problems with chronic infection .
Women have to be cut open to have sex
Ditto giving birth is horrendous .
They are mutilated in this way so they will never have pleasure in sex so will not become ironically 'unclean .'
Yet unclean and full of infection is what they will be for ever .
My DIL is a midwife in an area where there are many immigrants and she has attended many women who have endured FGM and she says you cannot believe the harm done to these poor women and the suffering they go through to give birth.
