What I find astounding is to see that Popularist views are being condemned!

I even had to confirm what Popularist meant to see what was wrong with it.

The answer - nothing.

But it does encompass those who put their nation and their national values first rather than just playing silly games on the international political stage.

Far right my aunt fanny. Just people who care for their nation before ALL others.
“....above all others!”, we all know where that attitude leads. Is is the rise of the right that led to the ERG, BNP, UKIP etc and we are all suffering at the moment from such a world view. It’s one thing wanting the best for your country, quite another to arrogantly believe you are so much superior to everyone else. Just look at the price we’re paying in the Middle East in the aftermath of the Imperialist British Empire.

Before all others is the words that were actually used not above .

This way of re viewing history does no good .
It's not wrong to be loyal to ones country .
It's the disloyal attitude that makes people think they can go and join terrorist groups with impunity .
The lord Hahas of our age who then want to come back and be cosy again .
And it's not just Europe the far right is on the rise throughout the world in places where we didn't have an Empire .
