Re: Boy, 6, 'thrown from 10th floor' of Tate Modern

There used to be a clause in law that would take into consideration the mental health of a woman who committed infanticide within one year of giving birth.

The one thing that always stands out is that generally these mentally ill people who commit mass murder such as the shooting in a Walmart in the US and this maniac .

They pick the vulnerable
He didn't approach a six foot twenty four year old he targeted small children .
Shooters do t generally pick and army barracks or a police station .
They prefer schools or people in supermarkets .

Possibly Muddy, I have no knowledge of that at all. What I mentioned though, with regard to mothers having given birth, was how this too can cause mental health problems but is categorised in with depression.

One in four of us will experience a mental health problem in our lives it is reckoned. This will probably include those mothers who, in the course of giving birth, then suffer with something like the 'Baby Blues', but a little more serious. This is labelled 'depression' and then remains on their record for the rest of their lives and can cause many problems for them. This is yet another instance where the label 'mental health' causes so many issues as it seems that it's not recognised that there are varying degrees having mental ill-health.

People with depression often lead their lives without obvious problems, in fact usually they appear to be as 'ordinary' as anyone else. Their 'problem' is in how they may be unable to deal with certain things in their lives which others will cope with without the problems affecting the person labelled with 'mental ill-health'. All very wrong I reckon as any one of us can have problems with our mental health the same as anyone can have physical ill-health.

It’s a wonder foreign tourists still come to this country. They were mainly foreign tourists that were murdered on London Bridge not long ago.

Someone in the government will just say.. ‘Lessons have been learned’.

The same thoughts have passed through my mind too Art .
I note in Tripadvisor London forum many members from other countries planning to visit ask if it’s
“ safe”
Stories like this one will no doubt spread a little more concern in their minds .

I really don’t think it wise for escorted by carers outings of this kind ,if details in certain reports are correct , ought to be considered .

Re: Boy, 6, 'thrown from 10th floor' of Tate Modern

So many heartbreaking stories concerning children this week. It's really quite horrendous. First the killings in El Paso where many children were targeted, then that vile mother who murdered her two adorable little girls, and now this, a mental patient allowed out but has to have two carers with him at all time, yet managed to evade both of them, snatched a 6 year old from his mother's arms and throws him over a 100 foot drop from a balcony.

The world really has gone to hell.

The little boy has a bleed on his brain and a broken back it will be a miracle if he survives to have a normal life .

Had he fallen lower than the fifth floor might not have survived at all ? He might get past the physical injuries eventually but not the trauma of being thrown out into space ?

I don't mean to trivialise this heinous act. But there seems to be some inconsistencies in this story.
That's true.
