I would much rather a member of the public was on the panel than these celebrity's, might get a bit of balance to proceedings rather than party ideology and spin.

I agree. If they can't persuade enough politicians or intelligent contributors (note I didn't link the two together), ordinary members of the public would be a good idea. Certainly better than the Izzards and Geldofs of this world.

Why do they invite them along? Entertainment value? Surely not for sensible comments.

As others have said, hopefully Geldof will have the same impact on the EU vote as did Izzard!

I am forever bemused by these so called "celebrities", sitting on their millions whilst arrogantly pontificating to us plebs regarding great matters of state as if they actually believe they know more or better than we do, when the only difference between us really is the size of their bank balance.

I've never understood why anyone would be interested in the views of celebs?
Their opinion means little to nothing to me.

I would prefer to see politicians off there and a couple of people from the economy sector and industry and for once some true facts given to us instead of tit for tat comments.

I do think celebrity should keep out of debate on important issues
