Re: Hey ... The Wind Is Getting Up!

Hi

Been watching it on weather radar.

We have a quiet spell now, but rain again in the next half hour.

Northerners, you might need your big coat.

Well, I didn't need my big coat yesterday, but I would today if I'd gone out & I live in Devon.

Not my biggest coat, it's not that cold yet . I was only thinking walking home from the shops today about the severe winters I've got through, trudging through snowdrifts higher that London buses for example .
Incidentally only a man could answer ..... what's this fashion amongst men to be going about this weather barelegged in knee length shorts?

Hi

The first flood alert has just been issued locally, hardly surprising.

Better going out in knee length shorts than kilt up here at the moment.

Re: Hey ... The Wind Is Getting Up!

Oh I hate high winds . My 5' fencing panels twice in the last 6 months have broken loose or the posts broken and flap and fly in the winds. I dare not look out the window because I know I wont sleep if I see them flapping and flying . I just dont know what to do when it happens I cant hold them and I'm afraid they will fly and damage cars or people . The posts are concreted in but are below the soil level and of course rot with the wet soil .

Oh I dare not open the curtains if they are gone they are gone I'll deal with it tomorrow .

It's rough here too with really heavy rain.

They are forecasting even worse winds tomorrow from about lunchtime onwards!

Re: Hey ... The Wind Is Getting Up!

We've had the wild hoolie blowing all day, massive waves crashing up the cliffs and over the sea walls. Ferries to the islands are off too.
