50s Dance

Hi
I`m running a `Back to the 50s` dance event in October. We`re providing make-up artists (all that red lippie & powder), and hula hoops and having a Cake competition. They`ll be learning the Cha-cha and a few Rock`n Roll moves as well.
It`s a family event - any ideas on refreshments / fashions / games etc.?

That was 80`s - we`re definitely doing the Fifties. I was wondering wether offering 50s style snacks (fish paste and salad cream sandwiches and Lyons Swiss Roll) would be a step too far!

I used to be made to eat slices of bread and butter with the jelly and milk at parties in the 50's yuk! Being an uppity little madam I said thank you but I preferred not to have any jelly then..
