Re: Would you take in an economic migrant?

Just trying to imagine where I could put one, we've already turned a big bedroom into two smaller ones and the tiny bedroom has bunk beds, poor Jordan gets the sofa when he comes home.

So no I can't see it working for us.

Re: Would you take in an economic migrant?

If I was sick and needed social care but didn't want to lose my house I would take them in for free in exchange for helping me. Otherwise if I had room I would take them in but expect them to get a job and pay their way with rent. I would only do this if there were some legal safeguards in place if they could not pay their way after a specified period. I would be unlikely to go ahead with either unless I had met them first and felt comfortable with them personally as you have to like the people living in your house.

Most of the economic migrants are young Muslim men .
They are not used to living in our culture and ways .
I can't see them fitting in with the average British family .

Do you have some data to back up the fact that most of our economic migrants are Muslim men? Or is this still hypothetical?

Yes I would take in a homeless person whether they were foreign or British if I had room. Being homeless is horrible makes you feel completely worthless so I'd like to think having had that experience myself I'd pass on my good fortune to another.

Hi

Rent a Room.

https://www.gov.uk/rent-room-in-your...-bills-and-tax

A good scheme, tax free and I use it from time to time.

I take in short term, a few weeks at a time, mostly NHS Staff coming from abroad until they find their own accommodation.

I have never had an issue with it.
