I don't see why anyone needs to mention missing members by name, as Meg said and quite rightly so, send them a message if you're really concerned, simples

Ania it can be a difficult call to make when a particular member may be absent because they are ill and other members are concerned.

It is best not to name absent members by name thought and to contact them by PM instead.

Janet some years ago one of our members on a sister site had a change of circumstances and stopped posting.
Members were speculating about where she might be and she read this and found it very upsetting because she did not wish to tell people what had happened to her .
It is not really fair to talk about people by name when they are not here to reply through choice or circumstances .
