Your post made me laugh Meg my pal Janet is in the same situation.... she went a bit mad with the scissors

No parties here for VE day... I might have done something if it wasn't for the lock-down just so my grand-kids understood what its all about but like most others here I wasn't around either.

I have been out with the dog this morning there are Union Jacks up in our village and other stuff on some houses .

VE Day is also my late Wife's Birthday.

She would have been 81 today!

I also think that the fly pasts, the "We'll'' Meet Again" songs, etc. are about her as well.

Certainly the celebrations made it an even more special birthday, for her, over the years.

My sister was born on this very day, 75 years ago. The nurses wanted to call her Victoria, because of the victory, but my mum was having none of it! She called her Ann Mary in the end, I assume because she preferred it. I am just about to hang a couple of small Union Jack flags out of the window, happy VE day everyone!!

A family across the road from us put up some tatty bits of bunting, a Union Flag then fired up their BBQ this morning. Filled the lane with horrible smelling smoke it did.
